The shot below is of an action figure being released by NECA to coincide with the release of the new Nightmare on Elm Street. I’m digging it…he’s looks a little too Pans Labyrinth for my liking… but it’ll do.

Full size photo of Freddy Krueger in all his action figure fantasticness after the jump:

Zombieland 2 in 3D?

November 26th, 2009

zombieland

The director of the most excellent zombie comedy, Zombieland, has told some press folks that Sony is very interested in a sequel and that they are seriously considering shooting it in 3D. My guess is that this move might be to combat the HUGE problem Sony reportedly had with pirating on the first flick. Maybe people will pirate less if the in-theatre version of the film is in 3D.

Pretty much exactly 3 months after it’s limited release on 12 screens began, Paramount will be releasing Paranormal Activity on DVD and Blu-ray on 12/29 (same day as Jennifer’s Body). The not so secret original ending involving Katie meeting some of San Diego’s finest gunslingers will be included on the DVD and Blu-ray.

Jason Segel singing

November 20th, 2009

Jason Segel made a surprise appearance at The Swell Season’s show on Wednesday to sing a little funny song. He gives out his phone number in the song. Give it a call. I did. Killed about 20 seconds of time. I don’t regret it.

What I do regret is that Jason Segel was sitting at a piano and it wasn’t to sing his most excellent Dracula song from Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

Wolfman Featurette

November 20th, 2009

I’m still not super sold on this whole Wolfman movie, but the featurette linked above helped me dig it a little more. I like Benicio Del Toro a lot and I don’t feel like the trailers have really shown me “Benicio” at all. Hearing him talk about the movie in this featurette kind of reminded me that he’s in it… so now I kind of want to see it.

New Percy Jackson trailer

November 20th, 2009

This movie looks bad ass (in a Harry Potter sorta bad ass way). The international version of the trailer that hit the web a few days ago was good, but this one is WAY better.

They lost the  iPod product placement at the end of this one… interesting… but an iPhone still gets a cameo in the museum scene.

Elle Decor picking up “high quality” subs

November 20th, 2009

In order to bump Elle Décor’s circulation up from 500K to 550K, owner Hachette has revealed that the magazine will be taking over the “highest quality” subscribers from the now defunct Metropolitan Home.

So… if you were a subscriber of Met Home and you don’t start getting Elle Décor, be embarrassed.

Scream Queens 2 in the works

November 20th, 2009

Jaime

VH1 has officially announced that they have started working on a second season of their reality series, Scream Queens. After weeks of being put through a horror boot camp, one actress will win a role in Lionsgate’s next Saw flick, Saw 3D. This season will be hosted by actress Jaime King and will premiere in 2010.

I loved the first season of this show… spazzy hot girls running around like dumbasses trying to look scared for an hour… that shit is awesome. Unfortunately for Lionsgate, they aired the show about 10 months before Saw VI came out and got pretty much none of the buzz they were hoping the show would deliver.
