Yet another Toy Story 3 screening I can’t go to

March 29th, 2010

Following a full screening of the film at ShoWest and some sort of upcoming presentation at Wondercon, Disney & Pixar will be holding a series of college campus screenings of the first 65 minutes of Toy Story 3. If you happen to still be enrolled in one of the lucky campuses noted on Pixar’s Facebook page, go and sign up… and make sure you bring your valid college ID with you or they won’t let you in. (I’m pretty bummed I can’t go to this… but on the other hand, I’m not sure I’d want to watch an hour of the movie and then have to wait 2 months to watch the rest)

Another day, another possible Twilight director…

March 29th, 2010

It literally seems like a new name gets thrown into the running for the directing gig on Breaking Dawn every day. This time, that director is M Night Shyamalan. On the Red Carpet at the Kid’s Choice Awards, Shyamalan told MTV that he is a huge fan of the film series and would love to be considered for the directing gig for the Breaking Dawn flicks. He’s not officially in the running as far as we know… but that could change. I actually think this could be a really good choice… Shyamalan is going mainstream for Airbender… maybe he can lend some of his signature creepiness to a Twilight flick without throwing in his token twist ending.

Glee preview screenings for charity

March 29th, 2010

Next week, FOX will be holding special sneak preview screenings of the spring premiere episode of Glee. 100% of the ticket revenue will be given to the Grammy Foundation’s GRAMMY in the Schools, a program that strives to bring music education to kids. Screenings will be held in a bunch of markets including NY… but they’re not showing it in LA… what the heck is up with that?!

Singer passes up X-Men directing gig

March 27th, 2010

It sounds like Bryan Singer has officially been taken off the table as director of X-Men: First Class. Singer’s ties to Warner Bro’s Jack the Giant Killer and FOX’sneed to get First Class into production ASAP have made him directing the flick impossible. Instead, Singer will take a producing role in First Class and a new director will be found. (Makes me VERY nervous, but I’ll hold out hope that Shuler Donner will pull off an awesome choice for director)

24 officially cancelled

March 27th, 2010

Following the conclusion of this season, 24 will be no more. FOX confirmed the weeks long speculation about the show to the press earlier today, stating that Jack Bauer is done in TV but will likely hit the big screen in a movie sometime hopefully soon.

Get both Toy Story movies on Blu-ray AND DVD for $18

March 27th, 2010

Disney gets a little crazy with couponing for their Home Ent releases… Toy Story 1 & 2 were both released separately on Tuesday in Blu-ray/DVD combo packs. Each one retails for about $30 ($60 for both movies). Target currently has each one for $22.99. BUT, there’s a deal going on where if you buy both movies, you save $10 (down to $35.98 for both). THEN, on top of that, Disney is offering an additional $10 off coupon for each movie if you’re upgrading from VHS or DVD (down to $15.98 FOR BOTH!!)… don’t worry about actually digging up your old DVD copy of either film, the link above has UPCs you can use for the promo. I did this yesterday at Target and it worked amazingly… no questions asked. YAY!
