Will advertising will kick butt in 2012?

Some important folks in the important holding companies that own our important agencies are at an important media conference to say important things.

All of the big boy agency holding companies are looking into their crystal balls and predicting that ad spend will be up in 2012 by somewhere in the neighborhood of 3%-4%. Some are quick to point out that we need to be careful when considering 2013 though, as we won’t have election season and London Olympics to bump things up like we will in 2012.

These wise men are also warning that pay cable providers are going to take a hit in the coming years, losing as many as 500K subscribers a year to online video providers.
