First cast photo for The Walking Dead on AMC

July 16th, 2010

The first cast photo for the upcoming zombie drama The Walking Dead has been released by AMC. I believe this is the same shot they used on the invite for their Comic Con party on Thursday. If anyone goes to that party that I am missing because everyone and their damn mom decided to have their parties on Thursday and I’m not going on Thursday… please send me a note and let me know how it goes… or even better, send me some pics!

The Alking Dead hits AMC this October… and will be awesome… or I will cry.

Scream Queens 2 in the works

November 20th, 2009

VH1 has officially announced that they have started working on a second season of their reality series, Scream Queens. After weeks of being put through a horror boot camp, one actress will win a role in Lionsgate’s next Saw flick, Saw 3D. This season will be hosted by actress Jaime King and will premiere in 2010.

I loved the first season of this show… spazzy hot girls running around like dumbasses trying to look scared for an hour… that shit is awesome. Unfortunately for Lionsgate, they aired the show about 10 months before Saw VI came out and got pretty much none of the buzz they were hoping the show would deliver.

USA locks in WWE RAW through 2014…

November 16th, 2009

…and a giant sigh of relief echoes from the USA headquarters. WWE has signed a deal with USA to keep the high-rated wrestling series, RAW, on the network through 2014. There have been whispers and speculation floating around about what could potentially happen to WWE centerpieces like RAW if/when WWE chairman Vince McMahon launches a cable network of his own. USA can relax a bit now knowing they won’t be losing their cash cow any time soon.

Current TV getting MTV-style overhaul

November 13th, 2009

New Current TV CEO Mark Rosenthal is planning on giving an MTV-style makeover to the network that will result in 80 lay-offs (25% of their staff) and the termination of current programming director, David Neuman.

Rosenthal previously served as president of MTV Networks and will do what he did to MTV… fuck it up by taking away short form content and replacing it with half hour and hour long programming. And most of those programs they’ll be airing will be acquired from somewhere else. So it’ll be generic repeat crap. yay.

Spike picks up Custom Auto show

November 13th, 2009

Unique Autosports: Miami (hmmm… I wonder if they’re hoping to launch other versions of this show in other cities?) is described as a mix between Pimp My Ride and Cribs. The series will follow an auto shop in Miami as they customize vehicles for celebs like LeBron “King” James, Sean “Diddy” Combs, and a lot of other cool guys who like to use quotation marks in their names. Autosports is set to premiere on 2/28.
